Chongqing is famous because of top tourist destination - Three Gorges. Owing to the Three Gorges projects, Chongqing becomes the fourth municipality directly under the central government and the largest municipality in the world. As all cities in China, Chongqing is changing, more modern and more bustling.
I thought Chongqing is more like a magical sprint lover, from the stage of disqualification to the world famous star in the field of sport during short time, even have chance to be compared with the Shanghai, the modern international city.

The change of city

First place to visit in China is Chongqing, the driver of taxi passed by a tower, and I asked what it is, and the driver surprisingly answered me, it is the Monument of Liberation and we arrived at the most flourishing place of Chongqing. Its state seemed like the market with crowded people, several tall buildings and rows of lower stores attracted lots of visitors, which is as good as the Nanjing Road in Shanghai.

This time is different, I look up to seek among the various tall buildings according to memory, but the bristly buildings almost hide the sky, seems like a naughty boy gathers all his toys on a small desk. The companion pull my sight back to the horizon line, the tall Monument of Liberation in my memory becomes a lonely dwarf standing at foot of Daduhui and the New Chongqing Department Store. Close to it, I have no way to connect the new monument to the one in my memory. The place and character are all right, only I am wrong. Almost 20 years, my brain had never been brushed by new Chongqing. The tour guide said the circum of the Monument of Liberation gathers the functions of business, shopping, leisure, tourist, catering and entertainment, the visitors flow rate is about 330,000 every day, even more than 1,000,000 in holidays, is worth the name of China Top Ten Landmark Commercial Districts.

Passing through this city, the old houses in Yuzhong District has nothing left, the old style binding buildings only left some, and tall buildings and mansions instead of them completely. The famous mountain city depending on mountain and river has fewer the layers of the mountain terrain. The hills have been stepped under the new tall buildings, only the obstinate ones still keep half of ridge and also feel wronged. The Nanan District and the Jiangbei District also do not show the weakness, everywhere close to bridge and road is covered by the row upon row of buildings. Overlook in the higher place, the style of new Chongqing does shocks all visitors, especially I. The river clearly circles a big modern city. My companion said the present Chongqing likes the Hong Kong in 1970s and 1980s, I smiled, he is also influenced by the sights.

Huangshan Mountain Hiking - Experience Close to Dying

Among the variety of strange sights in Huangshan Mountain , Cloud Sea is both a barrier and a lucky star. I believe, just these gather and scatter clouds passing through peaks continuously, which gives the intelligence and vitality to Yellow Mountain crowded with peaks and gullies.

According to the different directions, the Cloud Sea is generally divided into East Sea, South Sea, North Sea, West Sea and Heaven Sea, among which, the East Sea is located at east of Baie Peak and Xiandu Peak, here is deep and changeable, following the circumfluence of valley wind, the cloud rolls quickly, like terrifying waves, billowy; South Sea gathers at south of Tiandu Peak and Lianhua Peak which are the main peaks, the cloud sea here is wide, countless peaks immersed into the bottle of cloud sea, only the Zhusha Peak and Zishi Peak above the surface of cloud sea like the islands on sea; the West Sea mainly gathers at west of Danxia Peak and Feilai Peak, it is the most beautiful and deepest part in the Cloud Sea spot.

And the most miraculous North Sea is located at north of Danxia Peak and Shizi Peak. Owing to the complex geography here, airflow passing though peaks always comes across barriers, so shaping the rare circulation plexus valley breeze. Meanwhile, the cloud like waves ups and downs, rising, straining, circling and stretching, seems like the silver waves rowing in sky.

In one morning after snow, I left for Shizi Peak to shoot the sunrise in Cloud Sea in about 5:00 am. Shizi Peak is located at North Sea Spot, in the elevation of 1,690 meters, named because seemed like a procumbent male lion, is the best place to enjoy the cloud sea and sunrise.

When I climbed to Qingliang Platform at half of Shizi Peak, I saw large-scale Cloud Sea surging to me. I was so excited at that time, seemed I can hear my heart. You know, although the Cloud Sea always appears to Huangshan Mountain, I always miss it owing to various reasons. Such a chance must not be missed, this time I climbed to Shizi Peak I found a ideal position in front of me about 30 cm, without any thought I jumped down. Who knows, it almost lost my life there. Originally, when I hurried to get out, I forgot to wear the spikes.

Just right the freezing winter, the platform was icy, and I cannot control myself when I jumped to it. Luckily, my left foot was stopped by the stone guardrails before the cliff, or I cannot imagine what would happen to me.

In all my experiences, it was the most dangerous and stimulating one. When I just recovered and well-set the camera, only saw the large-scale Cloud Sea was slowly flowing among the white peaks, and the nearby stalagmite surrounded by the white cloud, like a beautiful girl wrapping white yarn, miraculous but cannot described by words…

Worth Visiting Huangshan Mountain in China

Though I enjoyed photography has been for decades, the obsession to Huangshan Mountain in recent 5 years. During the 5 years, I got in and out heaps of times, came across the bleak Huangshan Mountain, the shy mountain, and of course the gorgeous Huangshan Mountain…Reviewing the theme photography to Huangshan Mountain in these years, the most impressed was the winter in 2011. At that time, Huangshan Mountain had been snowed several times, but no one let me satisfy. Indeed, the mountain is difficult to shoot. But after the countless hopelessness, it finally opens its heart to me.

Not One Less

There is a popular word in China, when you have visited the most famous five mountains in China, you would have no interest to other mountain; when you have joined in Huangshan tour, you would have no interest to the most famous five mountains. Among the famous mountains, the beauty of Huangshan Mountain is preeminent and the number one.

Although I like photography very much, always was busy with working, I almost have no chance to shoot the famous view. Luckily, I live at the foot of Huangshan Mountain, so I have great chance to shoot the typical mountain. Make a general survey, the cameramen from home and abroad just focus on the several special spots, such as pine, stone, cloud, spring, etc. So, although the Huangshan Mountain is big enough, there are only several for the shooting points. Inadvertently, what you shoot is similar with others'.

So the photography of Huangshan Mountain is not easy as what you think. Firstly, I always climbed the every peaks and valleys, in order to find the beat camera site, and also consulted many materials about the weather and history of Huangshan Mountain in order to ascertain the temperament of it. In this process, what let me felt difficult is the changeable characteristic of Huangshan Mountain. Besides the different views in four seasons, every peak has its characteristic and special points, and its all views are different following your changeable positions. In one word, if you like to shoot the most beautiful Huangshan Mountain, you need the luck and effort.

For example, I always like to shot the beautiful autumn view of Huangshan Mountain, but never encounter to a good day. In the end of September, the foot of mountain is the early autumn, but the Huangshan Mountain had become the deep autumn. At one afternoon, I entered into the mountain with drizzling rain when I got information the weather of top of mountain was turning better. On the way, I also came across many cameramen like me all back, but I still unwilling to give up. When I arrived at the entrance of the West Sea Valley, what I found was the all views were enveloped by the heavy fog. Just wait, until about 6:00 pm, I thought it was a disappointed way. When I prepared to back to home, suddenly the cold wind puffed away some fog, the nearby peaks jumped into my sight like the dragonfly touch water. In a moment, the distant sky started to reveal a piece of light, and the cloud opened continuously, I hurried up to adjust the parameter of camera, and pressed down the button…

Stunning Offshore Island in China – Gulangyu Island

Among many tourism favorite destinations in the world, China is the popular and famous one. There have the magnificent Great Wall, ancient royal palace Forbidden City, the exotic Summer Palace, Terracotta Army and others. In this large area of China with the largest population in the world, there also has rich of beauty, not only in Beijing or Xian. Beside that beauty and stunning beach, Gulangyu Island has also known as an old city. There have many buildings which have varies old building architecture that will amaze visitors who come here. Those old buildings are some former colonial buildings that had used as offices building, residential, school, stores, hospital, and church which still standing good till now.

Gulangyu has also become the favorite places for a lot of couples to make their pre wedding photos. Each year, will be hundreds couple memorize their best moment there. Another unique that also the island have is visitors cannot ride their vehicle, motorcycle or car. Because of that, inside the island there have no pollution, less noise, so Gulangyu,this beautiful island conveys its quietly and harmonious panorama beauty to every visitor.

Xian is the city that enjoys long history in China. At past, over thousand years, in total Xian had become the ancient capital city of 13 Dynasty. Ciqikou Ancient Town - The History of Chongqing in China

Ciqikou in Chongqing City is an ancient historical and cultural street area has an ambiguous future! Because the extension project of Ciqikou is in progress, no one knows what it will be like after 5 years. Although the official says the Ciqikou ancient town rose up in Song Dynasty, but I recognize it is not important at all to the present Ciqikou, as it has no relics of Song Dynasty, what it keeps is the small city of inner suburbs of Chongqing in the period of Anti-Japanese war.

 Located at the bank of Jialingjiang River, Ciqikou Ancient Town covers an area of 1.2 square kilometers, only 3 kilometers away from the main city of Chongqing. It is said the Ciqikou was called Baiyanchang originally, firstly built in the time of Emperor Xianping in Song Dynasty, even local people realize the Ciqikou was built earlier than Chongqing. In Ming Dynasty, owing to the convenience of shipping in Jialingjiang River, here became a bustling commercial wharf, always busy in day and night. Even a legend popular among local people, there is a imperial coup happened in the early year of Ming Dynasty, the Minghui Emperor - Zhu Yunwen absconded from capital to hide in the Baolun Temple as a monk in Ciqikou, so the Baiyanchang is also famous as Longyin Town, means the dragon hiding here. In early year of Qing Dynasty, because local produced and transported porcelain, it is renamed Ciqikou, became one of the important parts of Chongqing city which is a historical and cultural city.

So far, Ciqikou Ancient Town still keeps the pattern as a small town built depend on the hillside in the end of Qing Dynasty and the flagging, and many old houses also built in the same period; the simple but old flagging is harmony with the bamboo residences; the stores along street are mostly tradition pattern, and back keeps the residences of businessmen and wealthy, usually the Sihe courtyard, with delicate and luxury decoration. 

The advantage of Ciqikou is that it is not completely commercialized, still many local people living there, and keeps the habits and customs of mountain city. What the pity is the usual visitors of Yangtze Cruise tour come here just visit the most flourishing three streets, Center Street, Bystreet and the Food Street which only the corner of Ciqikou, full of specialty shops opened for tourists, although bustling, less traditional life atmosphere. If you are able to climb to the old steps, wandering in the small lanes in the interior of Ciqikou, it is easily find a completely different Ciqikou.

It is said that the present developed area of Ciqikou is limited is not enough to contain the increasing tourists, and the extend area will be built with the pseudo-classic architecture. I do not know the Ciqqikou ancient town in 5 years later is the Ciqikou or the other Shanghai New World. However, if you really like to enjoy the amorous feelings of ancient Chongqing, just hurry up!

Last Log Cabin Village in the World - Changbai Mountain

Chinese filmmakers always like to call Changbaishan Mountain the "fairyland on earth in the end of Asia", owing to it is always colorful even in winter. Finally, they drunk hard drink and eat foods made by the peony planted in Changbaishan Mountain fought from outer of Shanghaiguan Pass to inner and built the last dynasty in China. They left it, but they never forget it, emperors in Qing Dynasty assigned people back to ancestor worship.

Even to this day, Changbaishan Mountain still keeps many cultural relics of Man nationality, and the most famous is the Changbaishan Log Cabin, also known as Bark House and Wild Family. In the Sidaogou Village, at foot of Changbaishan Mountain, hundred families consist of a wooden world, every family lives in wooden house, wooden wall, wooden tile, wooden chimney; and inner house is set with wooden vat, wooden basin, wooden spoon; and the out of house is set with wooden storehouse, wooden circle, and wooden barrier. What they used for transporting is wooden wheels, wooden car…. The Manjiang Town in foot of mountain is one of the best preserved villages with log cabins.In their architectural world, with no piece of brick, piece of tile and even plastic cloth, is rated to be the "last log-cabin village in the world" by historian.

Stayed in this kind of house for two days, what I had felt was only the enthusiastic residents, they have no desire to money and status, and they only pay attention to their substantial lives and the harmony family. It is the place breeds a nationality, what we can do just respect them and their history during China vacation.

Go to Gulangyu Island, the thing make your tour become perfect is living in the Rose House which is the only one theme lodge for honeymoon. The geographic location of Rose House is best, the right side of it is the Xiehe Auditorium with quiet environment, and after one minute walking distance is the Longtou Road Commercial Area.

The Naturalist's Penal Colony - Shangri-La

Shangri-La is not a place let people comfortable on body, but a place let people relax and enjoy on spirit. So here becomes the top destination for China city tour. The French man Soss Constantine has been in China for 10 years, his Chinese is fluent as well as French. Sometimes, he speaks Chinese is faster than Chinese people, absolutely a word-TB. Under his convene, a hiking from Hapi Village to Niru start quickly. Who together with him is his French friend – Daming who specially comes to Shangri- La for holiday. Daming had stayed in China for 3 years, and then he always find chance to back to China. Niru is 160 kilometers away from Shangri-La County, and it almost spends 4 days and 3 nights from Hapi Village. Between gaps of wood, I saw the red leaves covering the mountain, the continuous snow mountains in distance. The wind was heavy, immersed from gaps, we were all woken frozen.

The next morning, the other friends of Soss - Airy Kersee caught up. Airy Kersee walked fast, is favorite to rock climbing. At first, he was silence of few words, but after familiar he exposing his happy smiles. They walked briskly in front of me panting behind, like a walk alone. Beginning I also felt guilty, because they always stopped to wait for me, but gradually mutually accept each other's speed.
