Top 3 Famous Highlights in Anhui Province , China

Covering an area of nearly 140,000 square kilometers and has a population of 68 million people, there are many famous attractions in Anhui. Among those well-known resorts, I selected 3 most visited by tourists.

Fengyang Royal Mausoleum of the Ming Dynasty

Built during the second year of the reign of Emperor Hongwu, this mausoleum is the tomb of the parents of Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dyansty. It is rank first among all the existing royal mausoleums and has a great influence upon the consequent buildings in structural arrangement, scales, skills and styles.
As time goes by, most of the buildings have been seriously damaged. Being a majestic complex, there are three walls surrounded the mausoleum. Hundreds of houses were built for officials to rest when they held their ancestor cult there.
There are 32 pairs of stone carvings left and they were vividly sculpted and reflect the exquisite carving techniques of the Ming Dynasty. Most importantly, they are of great historical and cultural value and have become the national key cultural relic protection units.

Tianzhu Mountain

Tianzhu Mountain, also known as the Wan Mountain, is situated within the boundaries of Qianshan County, Anhui Province of China. Also it is the source of Anhui. It got its name for the reason that it looks like a giant pillar soaring into the sky and the literal meaning of “Tianzhu” in Chinese.
The main scenic spot covers 82.46 square kilometers. The peaks here are all majestic, stones are all odd, and rivers are all elegant. In addition, it is also rich in man-made scenery and it was the place where the story “peacocks flying to the southeast” occurred that makes you lost in wild and fanciful thoughts.
Tourists who travel to Tianzhu Mountain will be stunned by the natural landscapes.

Chaohu Lake

As the fifth largest freshwater lake in China, Chaohu Lake covers a circumference of 400 kilometers and located in the middle of Anhui Proince. With a bird’s nest shape, it is reputed as the Oriental Geneva for its location in the golden Triangle of Anhui.
Chaohu is a scenic spot of national level, and it concentrates a vivid description of the picturesque landscapes of this famous and time-honored lake.
The aquatic resources in Chaohu are abundant, the silver fish, small shrimps and crabs are popular both at home and abroad. Chaohu has exquisite scenery, with mists and waves stretching far into the horizon.

If time permit, you’d better visit all of them during your Anhui China tour.
