Top 3 Famous Highlights in Anhui Province , China

Fengyang Royal Mausoleum of the Ming Dynasty


Built during the second year of the reign of Emperor Hongwu, this mausoleum is the tomb of the parents of Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dyansty. It is rank first among all the existing royal mausoleums and has a great influence upon the consequent buildings in structural arrangement, scales, skills and styles.
As time goes by, most of the buildings have been seriously damaged. Being a majestic complex, there are three walls surrounded the mausoleum. Hundreds of houses were built for officials to rest when they held their ancestor cult there.
There are 32 pairs of stone carvings left and they were vividly sculpted and reflect the exquisite carving techniques of the Ming Dynasty. Most importantly, they are of great historical and cultural value and have become the national key cultural relic protection units.

Tianzhu Mountain

Tianzhu Mountain, also known as the Wan Mountain, is situated within the boundaries of Qianshan County, Anhui Province of China. Also it is the source of Anhui. It got its name for the reason that it looks like a giant pillar soaring into the sky and the literal meaning of “Tianzhu” in Chinese.
The main scenic spot covers 82.46 square kilometers. The peaks here are all majestic, stones are all odd, and rivers are all elegant. In addition, it is also rich in man-made scenery and it was the place where the story “peacocks flying to the southeast” occurred that makes you lost in wild and fanciful thoughts.

Chaohu Lake

Several royal family members of Li were buried in this location.
